Rancho San Julian, for 183 years under the management and ownership of one family, has participated in the political, social and agricultural history of Santa Barbara County.   Before that, the land, which accommodated two Chumash villages, and a number of cultural sites was pushed out of the ocean with emergence of California’s Traverse east-west ranges that created the outcroppings of Point Conception and Point Arguello on California’s Coast.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Eight generations later, the ranch continues as a cattle and farming operation with quality Angus cattle, dry beans and hay and farming other specialty crops such as apricots, melons, distilled lavender products, and wine. The ranch also facilitates a thoughtful hunting operation. In recent years, the ranch has served as a location for film, advertising and commercial photography as well as a rental location for special events such as weddings and family celebrations.
